ICR Attends Virtual Learning Tools Meeting, Akureyri

thumb_dsc_1380ICR Director Anders Oskal and staff member Philip Burgess attended a meeting in Akureyri, northern Iceland this week. The meeting was hosted by Arctic Portal and was attended by a variety of organisations, including the University of Akureyri, the Arctic Portal, UArctic, APECS and the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs. This was the first meeting of a two year project funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers entitled Virtual Learning Tools for the Arctic.  The goals of the project  include the investigation and development of online tools for UArctic, ICR, the Arctic Portal, APECS, the University of Saskatchawan, the Stafansson Institute, the University Centre of the Westfjords and others to facilitate communication and education for these organisations various members and users. The meeting was also attended by the Dean of the University of Akureyri.
