Styret for forskningsmidler over reindriftsavtalen har på møte den 6. juni 2008 innvilget støtte til 12 nye forskningsprosjekter. Prosjektene som det innvilget støtte til har en kostnadsramme på 5 mill kr inneværende år. I tillegg er det 6 pågående prosjekter som har fått støtte. The Reindeer Husbandry Administration in Norway has announced the 12 projects that were successful in applying for funding for 2008/9 to a total of 5 Million NOK.

The research project EALAT and the Reindeer Husbandry and Nature course in the Sami University College were both successful. Other themes in the funded projects include policy analysis on conflict management, GIS, Traditional Knowledge, genetic analysis, wild reindeer, calving times, climate change, national parks and disease.
