NOR Conference Wraps up in Luleå, Sweden |

![]() Nordic conference on reindeer and reindeer husbandry research, organised by NOR, the Nordic Council for Reindeer Husbandry Research. The title of the conference was Renskotseln och omvarlden - Reindeer Husbandry and the Surrounding World.
There were participants from Sweden, Norway, Finland, the USA and New Zealand with a wide variety of research institutions represented and the conference ran from January 26-29. Themes of the conference included climate change, infrastructural disturbance and habitat loss, Predation and conflicts in reindeer husbandry. There were also speed talks, poster sessions and a series of specialised workshops.
![]() ICR employees Philip Burgess and Kristina Labba attended the conference as did EALAT phd student Ellen Inga Turi. The International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry filmed the conference in cooperation with NOR and will be putting it on the web in the near future. NOR was established in 1980, has its secretariat in Tromso and is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
