 The Board of the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry held their first Board meeting of 2009 in Kautokeino. Present were Johan Mathis Turi (Chair), ICR Director Anders Oskal, ICR employee Elna Sara. All board members were present - Berit Marie Jonsson (Sweden), Dr. Monica A. Sundset (Uni of Tromso, Norway), Juha Magga (Finland), Mai Britt Utsi (Norway) and Vladimir Etylin (Russia).
A wide range of issues were covered for the upcoming years priorities and of course preparations for the Association of World Reindeer Herders Congress. Svein Mathiesen gave a report on the EALAT COnsortium meeting that was held in January, 2009 and Philip Burgess told those present about the recent 15th Nordic Conference on Reindeer and Reindeer Husbadnry Research meeting in Lulea which he attended with Kristina Labba.
