- March 1 EALAT presented in Paris IPY Opening by IP IPO Director David Carlson. ICR and Director Oskal singled out for thanks and attention. Attended by Dr. Svein Mathisen.
- March 1-5 Coordinated EALÁT / ICR / WRH Visit to the WRH ten year Celebration in Nadym, YNAO
- March 2 Organised second EALÁT Scientific workshop, Nadym.
- March 18 ICR host delegation from Arctic Centre, Uni of Lapland, which included B. Forbes, F. Stammler, A. Degteva, A. Stammler and S. Khudi, a Nenets herder now involved with a construction company in Salekhard, called Yamaltranstoi. ICR organized a short presentation by Aslak Anders Sara related to his experience of oil and gas development in Hammerfest, home to his reindeer husbandry's units summer pastures and the home of the Snohvit development and proposed Wind Park. Mathisen accompanied group to Snohvit and attended presentation by Statoil PR representative.
- March 20 EALAT presented at a well attended NBR-NRL conference in Alta. S. Mathiesen presents EALAT. Philip Burgess webcasts conference to the Arctic Portal. Elna Sara in attendance
- March 20-21 ICR and EALAT attend a Swedish organized conference in Umea, ‘Future Challenges for Reindeer Husbandry’ workshop in Umeå, 20-21 March, organised by the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. ICR emerged with an MOU with the Royal Swedish Academy. ICR/WRH proposed a future workshop related to reindeer husbandry, Traditional Knowledge and ethical guidelines with a circumpolar focus.
- March 26. Two reindeer herding students of Sami Oahppahusguovddas (SAKK), Inari, Finland visit ICR to be informed of work of ICR.
- March 27 - April 1. ICR employee Philip Burgess attends a 4 day training session in Akureyri, Iceland at the Arctic Portal. A redesign of the Reindeer Portal was agreed upon. Assists in webcasting the PAME Conference, Akureyri.
- March 28. Anders Oskal attends 2nd Statoil Impact Assessment, Tromsø.
- www.reindeercentre.org redesigned and visitors directed to new site. www.reindeerblog.org established.
- April 10-14 ICR and WRH are attending the Arctic Council Sustainable Development Working Group in Tromso this week as Norway kicks off it’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council for the next two years. At the end of the week, the Senior Arctic Officials meet and will be attended by WRH and ICR. For the SDWG Dimitry Khorolia is the WRH Head of Delegation. ICR Director Anders Oskal, Elna Sara, Svein Mathiesen and Philip Burgess are in attendence.
- April 11-13. Elna Sara attends Statoil 2030 preliminary meeting, Svalbard.
- April 14 Anders Oskal, World Reindeer Herders Assocation and Director of the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry made a brief presentation to the Senior Arctic Officials in Tromsø, as the SDWG gave a progress report to the SAO’s. Dmitry Khorolia, WRH President makes a short statement to the SDWG.
- April 14 EALÁT presented to the SAO's by Anders Oskal after it has been accepted as a Arctic Council SDWG project.
- April 16. Anders Oskal met with State Secretary Liv Monica Bargem Stubholt to whom he presented an IP-IPY calender and a copy of Sophus Tromholdt’s book.
- April 16. ICR presented by Anders Oskal to sixteen State Secretaries who are visiting Kautokeino.
- April 16-22. Svein Mathiesen and ICR Board member and EALÁT researcher Monica Sundset in Chicago (conference presentation) and University of Alaska Fairbanks meeting with the LARS staff and CARMA network participants.
- April 20. ICR Director presents ICR to the Crisis Response Group which comprises of people from the reindeer herding districts of Troms County and the Reindeer Husbandry Administration (Reindriftsforvaltningen) and the Food and Drug Administration (Mattilsynet) in Bardufoss.
