Next week the Arctic Frontiers conference will be held in Tromso and several members of the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry will be in attendance. A key theme of the week long conference that is split into policy and science sections is oil and gas activity in the Arctic. Several presentations will deal specifically with the impact of oil and gas on indigenous peoples and traditional livelihoods, including reindeer husbandry.
A wide range of national politicians, international organisations, indigenous peoples representatives and corporations will be present for the policy section, with acadmics and researchers present for the subsequent science section. The conference will be webcast live. www.arctic-frontiers.com Related Articles/Posts Arctic Frontiers, ICR Activities |
