Reindeer Ambassadors Project Underway - Blog Launched |

The Reindeer Ambassador programme is a joint project supported by the Swedish Sami Parliament with additional support by the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry and the Sami Reindeer Herders Association of Finland. The program targets young reindeer herders who want to invest in outreach information, and engage in reindeer husbandry policy issues. The trainee program runs for 17 months. The program is offered to six people each from Norway and Sweden, and two from Finland. The Reindeer Ambassadors for 2010 have been chosen and they are Ellen Blind, Aslak Niillas Eira, Berit Marie Lise Eira, Lájlá Helene Eira, Majjen Eira, Ole Johan Eira, Margret Fjellström, Annele Gaup, Nila Jannok, Tuomas Aslak Juuso, Silja Jonsson, Marja-Kari Omma, Helena Partapouli, Keijo Pirttijärvi, Elen Anne Sara, Marja Lisa Thomasson, Isak Utsi, Sanne-Marja Utsi and Samuel Walkeapää.
