 The Chair of the Association of World Reindeer Herders, Mikhail Pogodaev, the Director of the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry Anders Oskal, and Svein Mathiesen, EALÁT project leader were in Oslo last week meeting with several personnel at the Norwegian Research Council. Pogodaev, Oskal and Burgess gave presentations about the work of WRH, ICR and the Reindeer Portal. The team met with Executive Secretary Dr. Olav Orheim and with Nina Therese Maubach.Later in the day, the team met with EALÁT partner Bob Corell who was in Oslo for a presentation to the Thor Heyerdahl International Days in Larvik (see story here) which was broadcast on the web by ICR and attended by Oskal and Mathiesen. The evening was rounded off with a dinner which included other EALÁT researchers, Inger Hanssen Bauer and Rasmus Benestad of met.no and Grete Hovelsrud Broderstad of CICERO, the IPY CAVIAR project leader.
